While I was chilling...

Posted on Mar 5th, 2009 by LeisureGoddess : Selfishly oriented towards Feeling LeisureGoddess
It's been such a long time since I last posted anything here or even had a look round for that matter. I notice the interface has changed with more adverts.

One of the things I did for myself this year was to consciously withdraw from the external clutter of more stimuli.
I ended all magazine subscriptions because they added onto my burden of guilt reading:
I bought it therefore I must read it.
I also reduced my Netflix subscription to one movie instead of 3 at a time and  I only watch instant viewing when I feel inspired to.
I refuse to give up reading for pleasure, since I've done that since I was 3.

At the start of this year I encouraged participants in my wellbeing journal to create a list of 100 things they would like to do this year. Of course I had to come up with the list as well, and I'm happy to say that  without even trying, I've accomplished at least 10 things already!

I am thrilled because creating the list was really me creating the things I wanted and the only work I ever had/have to do was/is to chill out and have fun.

Each and everyday something delightful manifests in a myriad of ways. I find this so enthralling that I literally cannot wait for the next day to begin again.

Right now as I type this my newest Garmin GPS arrived with bluetooth!
Imagine getting the GPS to call the destination before arrival. WOW. This is better than... Well better than the GPS I had before that did not call!
Can you imagine what the next generation of GPS will be capable of???

Beam me up Scotty!

losing inspiration

I resolved to post daily entries to this blog. However I am unable to copy and paste from Word.

I tried to look through the FAQ here, but after 20 minutes of futile searching I decided I could have already created and posted to a blog elsewhere.

What if we can't save the world?

Posted on Mar 13th, 2009 by LeisureGoddess : Selfishly oriented towards Feeling LeisureGoddess
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for March 13, 2009:

First of all this question assumes the belief that the world needs saving.

So I'll play along with that for a paragraph or two.  The world needs saving and us mere mortals are assigned to save it.
To save this planet that was here long, long, long before we even got here. And according to the premise of this question it is now in peril.
Okay I'm done with pretending.

Here is what I know for sure. The world; this planet is not and has never been in peril.
It does not need saving and and will never need saving. The planet is a living organism that is constantly evolving.
I can see how man might think it is in peril: He arrives when it is hot and getting hotter, so he thinks something is wrong or he arrives when it is freezing cold and getting colder so he thinks something is wrong, He arrives when it is cold and getting warm or when it is warm and getting cold. Each time he has one thought: the planet is in peril and we need to save it.

I won't even touch on the economic reasons for pretending we have a shortage of natural resources either. Oops I just said it.

Meanwhile, the entire planet continues to evolve and do what it does regardless of how we feel and what we do to it! Isn't that wonderful?
We are living on a planet that knows it's well being!
Sure we could be a bit more mindful of how we interact with it, but that really does not affect the evolution of our planet.

The Earth will continue to be here long after we are not.
I spend my time knowing it's wellness and appreciating how much beauty and wellness there is no matter where I go in it.

Most importantly when I think of the wellbeing of this planet I feel really, really good .

Life is really, really, good.
